hello, i am a new blog. i was created to add some balance. we know that black people face tremendous amounts of oppression all over this planet. i am here to show examples of and celebrate people that power(ed) through and broke the mold, positive representation of us essentially. i was wondering if you could promote me to your followers because i feel that people need to see the positives and negatives in life.

LOVE IT!

If we remove photoshop, facetune, photowonder and what the fuck ever else, half the girls here would't be allowed to submit.

Beautiful Brown Ladies,

Please take the time to submit to this movement and help remove negative stigmas surrounding dark skin and bright make-up. Also take this quick survey about the plight of black women. I am so excited about thisss !!! :D

insanepoet9:

School’s out for the summer, so I don’t walk in the sun as much.

My mom and grandmother kept talking about how fair I used to be as a child and how I’ve become fairer now that I’m out of school. My dad jokingly said I should never go to school and only take online classes.

It really annoys me…

I remember having crushes on guys and they’d describe their dream girl, it wasn’t me. I remember in fourth grade I had crush on this guy. But he didn’t like me like that, that’s fine, but he had to rub some salt in my wounds by calling me a burnt skinny stick. While my cousins laughed at it. I was deeply hurt. It stuck with me, even now. Guys like that don’t like you for who you are, but for what you are instead.
