From her 4th studio album released last year, Beyonce once again proved that she had not left her soulful R&B roots behind with this emotionally charged ballad. “I Was Here” talks about her hopes of making a mark and a difference to the world once she has gone. The meaning behind this song is one we can take and attach to our own lives, using everyday as an opportunity to actively reach for our dreams to leave our own mark and legacy and to make a difference even if it’s in one person’s life.
